I actually finished the body of the bag ages ago but I was always too scared about blocking it... it wasn't too difficult after all but I don't think I blocked it quite as much as I could. Still, I'm very happy with it! All it needs is a lining inside to finish it.

Thanks for the kind words! I used the yarn called "Lincraft cosy wool" which is basically a generic DK/8ply wool yarn. I don't have a big yarn store near me and I just picked the yarn based on which has Gryffindory colours.

I used Purlbee's blocking tutorial (I know there are so many varieties of techniques, it's really overwhelming!). The actual bag turned out quite thick so I literally just dunked the bag in cold water for about 10 minutes. You have to make sure that the whole bag is in the water, because it'll try to float.

Then when it's all wet, I rolled it up in a towel to soak up excess water. You don't want to dry it though! When it's no longer dripping, I just stretched the bag out to the desired size and pinned it all along the edges of it onto a thick towel that I placed on the floor. Remember to use rust-free pins! Then you just wait for it to dry, and it'll take hours. I left there for a good half a day.

In retrospect I don't think my bag was wet enough so it didn't dry as "flat" as it could. But I'd love to tweak the blocking technique some more in future projects. :)

Hope that helps! I'm just a beginnerish knitter myself (this is my first non-scarf knitting project).
